Description: 0176----c.1896 Albert Osborne cabinet photo - youngest Mayor of Corry PA Rare original cabinet photo of Albert Osborne, the youngest Mayor ever to serve in Corry PA. This photo was taken in Erie PA, most likely around 1896, just after he left office. Of course, there is always the chance this photo was taken while in office, and perhaps just visiting Erie. Osborne served Corry from 1893-1894, after being elected at age 27, and later moved to Erie in 1899. The Historical Society was kind enough to send a bio from 1907. The cabinet photo has the name "Albert L. Osborne" penned at the bottom in later period ink. Although the Mayor's initial was "B" I am 100% we have the correct man in the photo. Osborne died in 1913 while on a trip to Prague. I have enlarged the bio for easier reading and placed the image from c.1896 and the later image c.1907 side by side and have no doubt this is the same man. The cabinet photo is in VG condition. A great pose of the ex-Mayor in a white suit, long coat, walking stick and cap. He later became a well known lawyer, local and state politician, and a minor local celebrity in Corry and Erie. Please note: Research items are not included with the sale of the photo, but the buyer is welcome to print them. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
