The pendant features a channel set princess cut natural diamond that has been irradiated and annealed to permanently create a fancy deep yellow color. Diamonds like this are subsequently "cooled" after the irradiation, so they are perfectly safe to wear. The diamond measures 3.5 x 3.7 mm with an actual weight of 0.30 carat. It is grade at I-2 clarity (some eye visible inclusions, but lively) with good overall cut. Diamond is April's birthstone, but this classic and versatile piece is a joy to own and wear regardless of your birth month! Just to be clear, this is a natural, earth-mined diamond; just treated to bring out the fancy color. It is NOT a lab grown, man-made diamond. Natural diamonds have a long, many decades history of appreciating in value over time. The chain is from the New York wholesaler Agem, who assembles the chains from bulk Italian product. It is a 14 karat white pendant style rope chain finished to 18 inches in length, is held with a spring ring clasp, and weighs 1.1 grams. Total gold weight of the piece is approximately 1.8 grams. The pendant and the chain are both solid 14 karat gold and new; don't be duped into buying a gold plated piece or some else's worn out castoff!
