Rubellite is the red variety of tourmaline, and this one is a gorgeous purplish red color. It is not entirely eye clean, but well cut and very bright and pleasing! In full disclosure, if you look under magnification, there is an indented natural hidden underneath a prong. Indented naturals are nicks in the gemstone that resemble chips, but in actuality they were left by the cutter because to remove them would result in a much, much smaller gemstone. This is not visible with your naked eye. This center gemstone measures 5.4 x 3.7 mm with an actual weight of 0.37 carat. The diamonds have an actual combined weight of 0.13 carat. These diamonds are high quality with an average color graded at H/I and clarity at SI-1 with good overall cut; beautiful, eye clean diamonds that face up white and really help bring out the color of the rubellite. The tourmaline and the diamonds are all 100% genuine, natural, untreated, and unenhanced. The mounting is by the highly regarded New York manufacturer, Overnight Mountings.
