This ring features an oval, natural, Fair Trade rhodolite garnet and two round full brilliant cut natural mélange diamonds. The rhodolite measures 6.9 x 5.0 mm and weighs 0.95 carat. Garnet is not really a kind of a gem, but rather a family of closely related gemstone species. Rhodolite garnet is a gorgeous purplish variety of a mixed pyrope and almandite garnet species. This gem exhibits a medium, reddish-purple lilac color, is eye-clean in clarity, and is of very good overall cut. Garnet is January's birthstone, and rhodolite has also been suggested as an alternate June birthstone; but this ring is a joy to own and wear regardless of your birth month! The diamonds average 1.7 mm in diameter with an actual combined weight of 0.04 carat. These diamonds have an average color graded at J/K and clarity at I-2 with good overall cut; they add a nice little bright sparkle and help bring out the color of the rhodolite. The rhodolite and the diamonds are all 100% genuine, natural, untreated, and unenhanced. The mounting is by the well-respected New York manufacturer Overnight Mountings, style number 80082, done in solid 10K white gold. The ring is currently finger size 6.75 but is easily sizable by any competent jeweler. This ring weighs 2.0 grams.
