Description: These are the tumbled thicker edges of African abalone shells. They are also called lips, spikes, or rims. They can be used in shell crafts and make perfect trim on mirrors as shown in the pictures. You will get a selection similar to the one shown. The medium pieces are typically 10 to 12 cm long or 4" to 4.5". For reference, we counted 103 pieces in one sample bag of medium lips. Please allow 20% +/- as these are natural products and the counts will vary. See our other listings for small and large in natural as well as three sizes in white and turquoise.The lips are sold by weight in either 0.1 kg (100 grams), 0.25 kg (250 grams), 0.5 kg (500 grams), 1.0 kg (1,000 grams), or 2 kg (2,000 grams) bags. This is approximately 0.22 pounds, 0.55 pounds, 1.1 pounds, 2.2 pounds, and 4.4 pounds.We counted two 1 kilo bags at random and found 103 pieces in one bag and 105 in another.
