Description: This German made butter churn or mixer is in great overall condition and measures 13" from top of handle to the bottom of the unique propeller mechanism. This top was designed to fit onto a 1 liter jar but mine broke. If you have one this top with make you the owner of a fairly valuable butter churn. The churn is listed in Don Thornton's iconic reference book "The Eggbeater Chronicles__Second Edition (copyright 1999)" on page 162, Fig. 13-64. At the time of publication this complete churn had a reference guide price of $450. I have posted a number of photos as well as a brief video which shows the unique action of this particular churn. In the photos the metal mixing mechanism may appear to be rusty but there is no rust, only the original dark bronze colored paint that was used as the original finish over the cast iron. Full disclosure requires that I acknowledge that without the top being mounted on the correct jar the mixing mechanism sometimes catches, or slips on occasion but this didn't happen during the brief video clip. I just wanted to clarify and use the video to show the unique action of this very fine churn. Unfortunately, the video is "under review" by eBay so may not be viewable for up to 48 hours from the date of this listing.
