Description: General Information about the Schlumbergera truncate:Schlumbergera truncate is a species of plant in the family Cactaceae. It is endemic to a small area of the coastal mountains of south-eastern Brazil where its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist forests.This tough epiphytic succulent has showy flowers that bloom in the winter, usually around Thanksgiving, hence the most popular common name Thanksgiving Cactus. It has claw-like appendages on its flat stems (or cladophylls) that resemble crab claws, hence of its other common names Crab Cactus. It is also known by other names Zygocactus Truncates or False Christmas Cactus, etc.Schlumbergera truncata is a holiday cactus.
