Description: These are Gorgeous Bearded Purple Iris. Bicolor, purple/yellow They are perennials, blooming every year around Easter for us in Central Texas. They will bloom later the farther north you are. This type of Iris will bloom their 2-3 flowers sequentially, not all at once, thereby prolonging the bloom. These are idiot proof and have been in my family for 50 years in our garden. Drought resistant, deer resistant, pest resistant, even dog resistant (but not dog proof!) We do not water these in Texas at 26 inches of rain per year. We just put them in the ground and walk away, they are ZERO maintenance. Leaves may wither a tad during bad summer drought, but they still bloom again in the next year. We give bulbs to neighbors who move in, give bulbs to friends. My sister and I move these with us and plant them at our new houses. They are wonderful and dependable. As a bonus, in fall as the outer leaves die back, you can harvest the leaves and use them for making coiled baskets. Yes. Basket weaving is done with the leaves. I've done it. I will freshly dig up your order, wash, and ship it to you. They are *not* at risk of drying out. Shipping in a padded mailer.
