Description: This item is a February 20, 1863 (Douglas Ball # 241) Stonewall Jackson $1000.00 Confederate Bond, uncommonly WITH ALL COUPONS (search the other listings for this Bond and see if you can find another "full" Bond beyond our own 2 listings), framed nicely between 2 panes of glass so that both sides are viewable for display. With Red Seals stamped both front and back. This Bond seems to have been hastily cut, as the rough edge on the right side when viewed from the front contains Extra Paper, which was obviously not removed before the issuance of this bond. Thankfully, the rough cut didn't do the opposite and cut into the margin of the bond being offered. This particular Bond was NOT signed either by Robert Tyler as Register of the Treasury nor by Charles A. Rose as Assistant Register. Rather, it was signed by Charles T. Jones, as "Acting Register," as neither Tyler nor Rose were presumably then-available. Stonewall Jackson is, of course, Lieutenant General Thomas R. Jackson, already deceased and whom is honored on both these $1,000.00 Bonds as Well on the 1864 Confederate $500.00 banknotes. The engraving for both these Bonds and the Banknotes was made from the likeness on General Jackson's CDV (Carte de Visite), a photo of which is included in pictures shared with this listing.
