Description: 1062 Swedish Male Quartet concert c 1885 flier Carrie E. Hale, Vida J. Forrest Condition is with apologies. As you can see there is a torn upper left corner, and the stain. The wrinkling and perhaps some of the stain could be removed by soaking and pressing. Blank reverse. Billed as singing in their “picturesque national costumes” this group was accompanied by Miss Carrie E. Hale, “finest of all female readers in the country”. The accompanist was Miss Vida J. Forrest. I believe this handbill to be complete and not trimmed. The printer signature is where is belongs - at the bottom of the piece. The odd thing about this flier is that no location is given. Perhaps this handbill was handed out or posted on the street near the performance location. Possibly the concert was in Boston based on the printer and type of entertainment. Printer signature: Boston Job Print, Alden Street. All items original to period - No reproductions are sold in my store. This piece being offered is one in the same with this scanned image.
