You will receive three papers, one colour ‘The Illustrated London News’ open featuring the Egyptians, one folded “DAUGHTER BORN TO DUCHESS OF YORK” and one more folded again “WAITING TO RETURN TO WORK”. The folded ones are fixed and do not open and the large one is printed on the front and back with a blank sheet inside for bulk.These would look great on a breakfast table or door mat in a 1920s doll house! I have included a twenty pence piece for an idea of scale. Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 and was very influential on the 1920s and 30s, as can be seen in the Art Deco period. 1926 saw the first ever general strike in Britain due to Miners facing pay cuts and increased hours. 1926 also saw Prince Albert and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon give birth to a baby girl, who would later be Queen Elizabeth II!
