Virtually all natural zircon is heated to bring out the color, and we can assume that this gem underwent this treatment; but this is a genuine, natural gemstone. To be clear, this is a natural zircon, not a cubic zirconium! The zircon measures 7.0 x 5.0 mm with an actual weight of 1.29 carats. This gem exhibits a nice golden color and is slightly dichroic with peachy overtones that show up every now and then. Most zircons that tend towards this color are much more straight up brown; this is a pleasing and interesting colored gem, indeed! It is eye clean and is well cut, especially for a "native cut" gem. There is some minor "paper wear"; insignificant surface nicks and abrasions from being in a parcel paper with other gems. This is par for the course for zircons as almost all natural zircons develop abrasions over time as they are worn. The diamonds average 1.7 mm in diameter with a combined weight of 0.04 carat. These diamonds have an average color graded at H/I and clarity at I-1/I-2 with good overall cut; they add a nice little bright sparkle and help bring out the color of the zircon. The zircon and the diamonds are all 100% genuine and natural, and the diamonds are completely untreated and unenhanced as well. This ring is solid gold and unworn; don't be duped into buying a cheap gold-plated ring or someone else's worn-out castoff!
