Description: #131 Elsie Marley, Bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Doll, 1940s. Jointed bisque arms, frozen legs, painted black slippers. Original plaid taffeta dress, blue felt bonnet with feather & florist ribbon. Pantalets beneath the dress. Fastened with the usual brass safety pin typical of dolls made prior to the 1950s. No box or tag. Identified through Elaine Pardee's Encyclopedia of Bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls, page 173. There were over a dozen variations of this doll. See photos. I do combine shipping. Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls were created by Nancy Ann Abbott, with bisque dolls made in the late 1930s through the mid 1940s when plastic dolls were introduced. The bisque dolls with bisque arms are the older than those with plastic arms. Due to the dolls' age, they are fragile, and the fabric may be imperfect. See photos. However I make sure to note any flaws I see, as well as any repairs I have made. About me: I’m a 17-year-old who has been collecting all sorts of dolls (especially Nancy Ann Dolls, my favorite) since I was 8. Recently I’ve started sorting through my collection and restoring dolls as well.
