Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! This is the thirty-fifth kit in the long line of Orange Super Value Packs from Cyber Hobby (Dragon) that have become very hard to find. The Sonderkraftfahrzeug (Sd.Kfz.) 251 Half Track (sometimes called a Hanomag) was fielded by the thousands by the Germans to carry infantry into combat and act as prime mover. Cyber Hobby has included this iconic vehicle in their Orange Box series due to its importance and widespread usage across all fronts. This Super Value Pack kit is a repackaging of the very successful Dragon Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf.C (DML #6187) with the bonus of photo etched metal parts, a Dragon Styrene (DS) driver figure and four German Infantry in Action 1941-1942 figures (Master Box Limited #3522). I only found a few listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The cyber-hobby.com site no longer has a page for this kit, so I assume it has been Discontinued or is Out of Production. From other sources, I have found the following information about this kit: The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German, medium, half-track armored transport from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1935, and serial production continued in 1939-1945, ending with the production of about 14,500 units. The Sd.Kfz. 251 was powered by a six-cylinder engine Maybach HL 42 TURKM with 100 HP. Sd.Kfz. 251 was developed as a new, basic half-tracked transporter of the German armed forces. Its design was based on the Sd.Kfz.11 heavy tractor, with several elements changed in the adapted chassis: a new fuel tank was added, the location of the steering wheel, and the exhaust system was redesigned. In the course of serial production, four basic versions of the Sd.Kfz. 251 (Ausf.A, B, C and D) were created, however, in terms of details related to the production process (especially the C version) and a slightly different arrangement of elements inside the fuselage. - Value Added Photo Etched Metal and Metal Parts- Added DS Driver Figure- Bonus Master Box Limited Figures Set: German Infantry in Action 1941-42 Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2011 release (with new parts) of Dragon’s 2003 tooling of Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf.C (DML #6187). That tooling has been the basis of over 30 releases across the Dragon, Cyber Hobby and Das Werk brands. They have the box art and a link to download the complete, 2-color 8-page instruction set and painting guide for the original release (DML #6187). There are also links to reviews, aftermarket parts, galleries and resources that could be useful. Terry Ashley published a very thorough First Look Review on the perthmilitarymodelling.com site of the original version (DML #6187). He provides an extensive background on the Sd.Kfz. 251 Half Track. He breaks the kit down by Lower Hull, Running Gear, Upper Hull Exterior, Hull Interior, Tracks, Instructions and Decals, giving thoughts on each one. We get over a dozen photos of the parts and his Conclusion starts out with: “Overall a very nice kit with excellent details throughout included the subtle weld seams on the hull parts but the simplified drive sprocket is evident. The excellent tracks included as standard are a big bonus”. CPR Classic Plastic Review posted a short (about 6 minutes) In-Box Video on YouTube that is a montage of detailed photos of every component of this kit. You get a very good look at the flexible DS driver figure with separate coat, boots and tunic, as well as the finely detailed metal mirror holders and silver metal transfers for the reflectors. There is no text or narrative, just musical accompaniment. The parts speak for themselves! 1/35 SCALE BETTER posted a long (over 15 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that is entirely in Russian (with Russian captions!). You get a good look at the box, followed by the instructions. He takes each sprue out of the bags and inspects them closely. The DS driver figure, decals and PE parts are last before dissolving into a well-done photo montage of the kit components. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 9.5” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in terrific shape and still snugly sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 500 grey, tan and clear plastic parts, a fret of photo etched metal parts, a sheet of Cartograf decals and a bonus set of four figures from Master Box Limited’s German Infantry in Action 1941-42 set (MB #3522). It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this item is offered with $9 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
