Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. The Dassault Mirage delta-wing fighter / interceptor aircraft was a powerful Cold Warrior that now only flies for the Pakistan Air Force. This kit is for the Swiss-made version of the French Dassault Mirage; the S and SR variants. Both of these had strengthened airframes to allow them to be moved by cranes in their aircraft caverns carved in the Swiss mountains. The S variant is a tactical strike and fighter-bomber aircraft, and the SR variant is crammed with reconnaissance cameras and sensors. Wikipedia gives you the whole story on the development and operational history of the Mirage. You can find plenty of these kits listed on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here are some of the details about this amazing kit that I found from around the web: The Kinetic Model Kits website (kineticmodels.com) has a bare-bones page for this kit that simply shows the box art and has a broken link to download the User Guide. From other sources, I found the following information about the Swiss Mirage and the outstanding kit features: The Mirage IIIS was manufactured under license in Switzerland and entered service in 1964. In 1999, the 36 combat variant IIIS were retired. In 2003, the last of 18 units of the reconnaissance version IIIRS were decommissioned. The main visible differences between the Mirage IIIS and the Mirage III are, among other things, a modified cockpit interior with gray instead of black instrument panels, a new radar with a slimmer radome, the use of two HM-55S "Falcon" (AIM-26 "Falcon"), a fold-down nose, a nose landing gear extended by 28 cm with a correspondingly modified landing gear bay and a modified and more stable main landing gear. • TARAN radar nose with strakes• Retooled C.70 canards• Lengthened front landing gear wheel fork• Fin trailing edge antenna• Wingtip RWR antennas• Decoy dispenser• Dedicated instrument panel and undernose fairing• Interception lights• Hoisting points• Mk. 6 ejector seat• 2 x RP18 supersonic wing tanks Scalemates.com shows this is a 2016 release based on the brand-new tooling from 2014 that has been the basis of a dozen releases across the Kinetic, Wingman Models and Heller brands. They show the wonderful box art and have a link to download the complete 12-page instruction set and 4-page full-color painting guide. There are also many links to reviews, aftermarket parts, references and some photo galleries of professional-looking models. Michael Benolkin did a quick First Look Review on the cybermodeler.com site. He shows four detailed photos of the sprues, along with one for the colorful decal sheet. He provides a long list of features of the kit and heaped well-deserved praise on the model, saying: “This is another very nice release from Kinetic and continues to provide distinctive examples of the Mirage III/V family. I have a soft spot for reconnaissance aircraft anyway, so look for one of the two Swiss farewell schemes to appear in a build review soon.” Shar2 did an enthusiastic In-Box Review on the britmodeller.com forum site. He provides seven photos of the sprues, clear parts and decals. He walked us through the assembly sequence, describing the incredible detail as he went. He also provides a great history of the aircraft and a thorough list of the differences between the Swiss and Dassault versions of the Mirage III. His Conclusion starts with: “I’ve not seen other versions of the Kinetic Mirage, but I really like this one, and I’m not normally an aircraft modeller.” Stefan Fraundorfer published a masterful In-Box Review on the German-language originalundmodell.de site with over a dozen photos of the parts and decals. He points out that the decals are designed by Syhart Decal and printed to perfection by Cartograf, which is as good as it gets. He was most impressed by the correct usage of many clear parts for the reconnaissance variant. In the end, he said: “A good kit including a perfect decal sheet with which a spectacular Mirage IIIRS in special paint or a less conspicuous IIIS of the Swiss Air Force in the popular 1:48 scale can be realized.” This kit is in an attractive box about 15” x 10” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in great shape and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with light grey and clear plastic parts and a large sheet of Cartograf decals, along with a 12-page instruction book and 4-page full-color painting and decal guide to create your own Swiss-made attack or advanced recon aircraft. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this large item is offered with $10 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
