Each face of this pendant contains 35 bezel-set round stones (0.35 total carat weight) most of them, about 1.2 mm in diameter (they vary slightly in size) in the body and wings of the bird, and 5 bezel set marquise-shaped stones, 3 x 1.5 mm (0.25 total carat weight) in the bird's tail. The pendant's structure is openwork metal, kind of like an arch bridge, such that a bit of light can come through and the definite blue of the sapphires or pinkish red of the rubies can be seen when worn. The top edge of the bail is stamped "18K". Pendant drop including the bail 1.35 inches long, 1.15 inches wide.
