This filter element is from the original manufacturer, and manufactured for use with both Vu-Flow 1-1/2" T-Style filter systems and Rusco 1-1/2" Spin-Down Sediment filter systems. Vu-Flow and Rusco are the same manufacturer, out of the same location in Brooksville, Florida. The screen shipped may have either the Vu-Flow or Rusco branding as both are identical. The re-usable filter element screen measures 8-1/8" x 1-5/8" and is available in several mesh sizes to meet your particular requirements. Also available in stainless steel (sold separately). The information below notes general guidelines for mesh selection as provided by the manufacturer. Actual performance can vary due to variations in shape, size and specific gravity of the materials being filtered: Shale, shell or debris: use 24 mesh (for general use purposes) Pipe scale or coarse sand: use 60 mesh (good for sprinkler systems, sand sensitive valves) Fine sand or grit from new wells: use 100 or 140 mesh (good for drip irrigation, sand sensitive valves) Very fine sand and grit: use 250 or 500 mesh (good for pre-treatment) Very fine sand and grit: use 1000 mesh (good for pre-treatment, R.O., Ultra water systems In general, use the coarsest screen deemed necessary to filter the material you want removed.
