Description: Beautiful previously restored Holy Bible with title pages dated 1702 - 1711. New leather spine and hinges with, what looks like, the original covers. All brass corners and clasps present. Measures 16 3/4" tall X 11" wide and 3 3/4" thick. Covers are firmly attached, no loose pages. The Bible is preceded with The Book of Common Prayer (title page dated 1711). Title page for Bible is dated 1708, New testament title page dated 1707. Whole Book of Psalms after Bible is dated 1702. Six fold-out maps (one not pictured). Some page repairs and reinforcements with tape and Japanese tissue to margins and corners. Staining, foxing and matting throughout, everything is legible. Some tears to 2 of the maps (arrows in pictures). Family histories on reverse of some maps and front and end blank pages. The pages do have that antique scent to them; what some might call musty, I call aromatic. This Bible was professionally restored and re-bound in the past and it will last for many years to come. The covers are slightly out of alignment and it stands at a tilt, 3rd. picture shows it compared to another Bible.
