This is the final volume of a three volume set of a history of the English Civil Wars written by Edward Hyde an English statesman, lawyer, diplomat and historian who served as chief advisor to Charles I during the First English Civil War. This work, and the other two volumes, express Hyde's own views of the Royalist strategies used during the Civil War. The frontispiece is present but loose and with an engraved title page, also with the half title and index to the rear. Collated, complete. CONDITION In hardback binding. Externally, very worn. The spine is mostly missing with small parts remaining to the tail. Leather is gone from the front board and coming away from the rear board and significantly marked. Front board is just attached by the threads. Frontispiece is loose and the first few pages are creased and loosening from the binding. Pages are generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with spotting and marks to the first and last few pages. Tide marks to the title page to page 9.
