In the original French. 'Le Poisson d'Avril' is a satirical farce play, about a parade by the Vaudevilles one April Fools Day. It is a humorous play, interspersed with some poetry given by characters throughout. Written by Toussaint-Gaspard Taconet, though this volume doesn't attribute any author. Taconet was a French comic author, who published and presented many farces and comedies throughout his career. He was also the main character in many of Jean-Baptiste Nicolet's plays. CONDITION Rebound in marbled paper wrappers. Externally, generally smart. Light edgewear to the extremities. A little light discoloration to the wraps. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with only the odd spot.
