The Pleasures of Hope is a traditional 18th Century heroic poem that comments on human affairs.Thomas Campbell was a Scottish poet, known for his sentimental lyrics and was one of the initiators of what would become the University of London. Including five plate illustrations. Collated, complete. CONDITION In full calf leather binding with a red title strip. The boards are a little worn with fading to the extremities and joints. The front and rear hinges are starting. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with scattered spots throughout, mainly to the first couple of pages.
