Description: This Russian Icon once depicted Christ the Teacher or Saint Nicholas of Myra wearing the omorphorion in colors which have worn away over time. It dates to the 1800’s and has a beautifully detailed framework. I originally had this listed as Christ, the teacher, as that is what I believed it was (and was told). I have since had someone say it is Saint Nicholas. It is so old that I am not 100% sure either way now. Hoping that whoever purchases it is able to make that determination. It is important to note that this item has been previously enjoyed and show signs of wear, most features/finishes have faded away leaving outlines and shadows….adding to its charm and unique character. The icon is a rare find and a wonderful addition for collectors of religious artwork.
