Illustrated with 9 plates. Written by the Scottish physician and novelist, John Moore. Alongside his own works, Moore is also known to have edited Tobias Smollet. The novel follows the journey of the evil Italian anti-hero, Zeluco, and was met with immediate success. Though published anonymously, the work was recognisably written by Moore. CONDITION In a quarter morocco binding with paper boards. Externally, sound with handling marks to boards. Joints slightly starting but sound. With bumping and slight wear and rubbing to spines. Internally, firmly bound. Page generally bright and clean with slight foxing to title pages and plates. Ink signatures to title pages.
