Description: Here is a copy of the Frederich Goeb Bible printed in Somerset. It is known to be the first German Bible printed west of the Alleghenies. Goeb calls it the first edition in America but it is actually the fifth American edition. It is very nicely done and somewhat a must for a serious collector. This one has the family record of Christian Sensenich on the back side of the title page. He was born November 28 1796 he married Catherina Heistand in 1826. Also lists each of their children. Christian's parents were mennonites from Lancaster county. It appears like he may have left the mennonite faith at some point. The entire page has been translated and the family is also recorded on findagrave.com. The translation will come along with the Bible. Complete. Back cover attached but fragile. Questions please ask
