Description: Creator: Ludovico Caracciolo (1761-1841) Creation Year: 1815 Description: Both are beautiful Aquatint Artist Proof by Ludovico Caracciolo (engraver), which reproduces an artwork by the French painter Claude Lorrain (draftsman) Signed on plate lower "Claudio di Lorena inv., L. Caracciolo F.". Plate 2/19S, from the print suite "Liber Veritatis", Rome, F. Bourli, 1815. One represents the myth of Narcissius and the nymph Eco, draw by "the Metamorphosis" by Publio Ovidio Nasone (No. 2). The other is a landscape of the sea (No. 19S). They have been hand colored according to the studio information contained on the back sticker. Both are professionally framed by Reliance Studios in Cincinnati, OH Condition: Both are in great condition. I will be sure to picture extensively for your review. The frames are in good condition, but one (Etching 2) has paint chipping off in the upper right corner, as shown, and will need the inside of the glass cleaned. There appear little debris streaks, but they are not a part of the etching. It is hardly noticeable, but I wanted to be sure to mention.
