Description: "Hail to Thee! Thou Merry Month of May, May Song, For Two Voices, Composed by Carl Maria Von Weber, London, Leader and Cock, 63 New Bond Street, Corner of Brook Street" Original antiquarian folio which I surmise was printed sometime in the 1820s. Consists of four large leaves. Printed on that high-quality paper typical of the time period. The binding is completely loose and quite worn but the notes are intact, readable, unblemished. A nice little collectible piece. Here is how it starts, "Hail to thee! thou merry month of May, When morning breaks so soft and clear, And golden beams of light appear, O'er hill and grove we love to stray. 'Mid flow'rets blooming fresh and gay, to scent the bal______my breath of love__ly May" If I remember correctly, this book was from an early 19th century music hall which would perform a song for each month of the year. Questions welcome.
