The poem is set within the Scottish Borders in the mid-16th Century and is presented as being sung by a minstrel. The poem exudes a patriotism and champions chivalry and the dangers of the unknown. Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish historian, novelist and poet with many of his works remaining classics. CONDITION In full morocco binding. Externally, very smart with some light marks to the boards and spine. A previous owner inscription to the front pastedown and page before the title page. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
