Description: We are pleased to be able to offer for your consideration a French Ceramic Asparagus serving Dish in the shape of a book. This heavy duty piece is so clever. Made in the shape of a book it has draining holes at the bottom and four lovely little feet. It is in near mint condition with only two flecks of glaze missing and no cracks or repairs. If you are a collector of asparagus dishes or just someone who loves asparagus and books this is an absolutely incredible piece. It weighs in at 3 1/2 pounds and is very sturdy. Circa 1826. Most likely this is the production date as it is what is written in the Roman numerals on the front of the “book” (Information thanks to a clever Ebay or who pointed this out to us.)
