Bound in half-morocco on marbled boards. Illustrations include three folding maps throughout the text depicting the movements of the military campaigns. This is a historical account which relates the events of the Battle of Jena, which took place on the 14th of October in 1806. This battle, along with the Battle of Auerstedt, resulted in a defeat for the Prussian Army, who became part of the Kingdom of Prussia within the French Empire until the Sixth Coalition was formed in 1813. Includes a prefatory note which amends errors made within the text.Written anonymously by 'an officer of the R. Staff Corps', who also fought for the Royal Artillery. One page of publisher's adverts to rear of text.Collated, complete. CONDITION Bound in half-morocco on marbled boards. Externally, excellent. Minimal edge wear to the extremities, with a few marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with spotting, with foxing to the first and last few pages. Age-toning and foxing to folding maps, with damp stains to all three folding maps. Closed tear to the final folding map which has been repaired by tape to the reverse.
