This book once belonged to Jno. B. Brownlow or Col. John Bell Brownlow, who was the son of prominent Governor of Tennessee (1865-1869), U.S. Senator, American Newspaper publisher, Methodist minister and prisoner of war, William G. Brownlow. John Bell Brownlow (1839 - 1922) served as a colonel in the Union Army as the commander of the 9th Regiment of the Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry.
