1830s FREE BLOWN SMALL WHALE OIL LAMP STAIRSTEP BASE BOSTON & SANDWICH GLASS

Description: Here's a scarce little small size whale oil lamp with free blown font & pressed stair step base...hand blown at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co in the 1820s or 1830s.....it has a free blown round ball font with hand pressed stair step base...crude glass wafer joins the font and base together...slight roughness up inside the bottom of base from where the pontil rod was snapped off.....only 5 1/8"tall.. crude smooth sheared mouth would have taken a drop in whale oil burner with cork liner, which is missing.....Excellent shiny nice condition with only some small shallow chips on very bottom or base edge; no other damage. A nice clean whale oil lamp from the 1830s. These early blown/pressed whale oil lamps are getting harder to find. This is one of the cutest little early lamps from our own personal collection....We just cant keep everything, so after 50 years of digging and collecting we have decided to part with many of our bottles (to make room for more..haha)...so keep watching our listings as many rare treasures are being found! ....
