Description: Cartographer : - Goldsmith, Oliver 1728 - 1774 Date: - 1830’s Size: - 10 in x 6 1/2 in NOTE: PLATE NUMBER on top right corner is different from 1840’s & 1850’s editions Description: This original beautifully hand coloured original copper-plated engraved antique print by Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774) was published by A. Fullarton & co. in the 1830’s edition of A History of The Earth and Animated Nature. Oliver Goldsmith was the author of "An history of the earth and animated nature", which was first published in 1774 by J Nourse. A Fullarton published several editions including those in 1832, 1834, 1837, 1840, 1848, 1856-57. It is not 100% certain which edition this page comes from. It appears that the various plates being sold came from the same volume and year. Based on similar prints and slight variations on descriptions from the Fullerton editions, I am dating these from the 1830’s edition. However I am not an expert and only doing a calculated estimate. These are genuine antique and hand colored lithographs and NOT reproductions. Last photo is of other prints being sold SEPARATELY. See photos for actual condition.
