Description: Handgeschrieben Deutsch Buch Handwritten German Manuscript Diary of an Augsburg Woman for 1834 PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED! We have the most amazing manuscript here; a handwritten diary from 1834 in German. The script is just gorgeous; what fine handwriting people used to have! The book has two marbles boards binding it. On the cover is an extraordinary image of two fantastical figures, a bird in a top hat and a musician playing. They are in color. There are 120 pages in the diary; about half are numbered. The dates inside the text are all from the year 1834.The location of the events described is Augsburg, Germany, which is also where the book is from. The pages are not all attached to the boards, the first 26 pages have come off the spine, as have the rest of the pages. There are two sections of pages, and one can see the threads that had sewn them together. No pages are missing; the book is complete. The author appears to be Ursula ‘Zaactenbacker’; I can’t quite make out the family name for sure.Unfortunately I cannot read German, and the beautiful script makes it even harder to make out. However, it’s so carefully written that a German-speaker should have no problem.Perhaps this belongs in an Augsburg museum; it records the events of 1834. There is water damage through the upper right quadrant of the last 60 pages or so; it is very old damage, so it’s dried into a dark shadow. This is a very rare, unique item. I hope it finds the right home. Please examine the photos for description and condition. Ask questions. Thank you for looking!
