From French historian, Emmanuel, count de Las Cases, this series of memoirs detail the life and conversations with Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1815. The contents in this work came as a result of Las Cases' intention to record all that Napoleon did or said in his presence, collected during the eighteen months he had spent in his company.
