The first edition of a pamphlet by French libertarian socialist and anarchist PierreJoseph Proudhon (18091865) addressing criticism levelled by editor of the Fourierist journal La Phalange, Victor Prosper Considérant (18081893), towards his inflammatory book Qu'estce que la propriété? (1840), in which he notoriously stated 'La propriété, c'est le vol!'
