1842 New York manuscript stampless folded letter to RI [H.3055]

Description: 1842 stampless with manuscript New York postmark and 18 3/4 rate to a railroad treasuer at Providence RI. Business letter content; neat clear what is going on here as it wouldn't be a New York City marking (unless it is railroad related). There were New York post offices in Indiana and TN at this point but I think that would have been 25 rate so it's a bit of a mystery. Deserves some further research. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
