Description: Here is a very nice old and important commemorative medal made of bronze, I believe, in quite pleasing condition overall, measuring app. 1" across, with a reeded edge. This classic cultural tribute to China's nautical prowess shows just mild, even wear on a problem-free planchet, much better than average for these, and I have handled a few over the years - all are rather rare and desirable. I have not cleaned or altered its appearance in any manner, and five of the photos have been "enhanced" for clarity. The obverse features a scene of the beautiful sailing vessel on the waters, with "Chinese Junk Keying" beneath the view. The center of the reverse reads "Length 33 Feet - Burden 750 Tons - Depth 16 Feet", with "Sailed From Hong Kong 1846" around the top and "Arived In England 1848" at the bottom. Ahoy there! $300.
