Description: I am selling a scarce 1848 large date seated liberty half dime. This is probably one of the proportionately largest dates ever stamped on a coin, as it actually goes into Liberty's body, causing a lot of people to mistake the "medium date" variety as a large date. This is the real deal however. Liberty's body is partially outlined, with some drapery detail showing. Nearly all of the stars are visible and the date can be clearly identified. All of the lettering on the reverse can be read, and the wreath still has a little texture and detail. The reeding on the edge of the coin is still faintly visible around most of it. This coin has been holed at some point and may have been cleaned. A hard to find variety to add to any half dime or type coin collection!
