Description: 1853 O ARROWS AND RAYS SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR NGC CHOICE VF 30 WHOLESOME AND NATURAL SHADES OF LIGHT COINSILVER GREY. WELL STRUCK, FEW MARK, EVEN LIGHT WEAR. A significant one year Type, and essential to any 19th Century Type Set. The N'Orleans issue is much scarcer at both NGC and PCGS, with certified populations across all grdaes at but a fraction of the Philly issue. The holder has a chip on the front right bottom edge. 4,860,708 Arrows and Rays Halves were struck in 1853, Philly at 3,532,708, New Orleans at 1,328,000. The arrows indicated the change in silver content, now nearly a full gram less than previous issues. Nice coin, and quite in demand.
