Description: Historic 1856 book, Quarter leather with brown cloth decorated, Black and white and color plates and illustrations throughout. There are 10-12 color plates depicting fashions, with four others depicting patterns or, in one case, perhaps a fashion embodied in an illustration of a flying woman. A bound volume of Godey's Lady's Book and maybe Magazine, containing all twelve issues for the year 1856. Includes articles on fashion, history, etc., as well as instructions on crochet, knitting and other handicraft. I would say its in poor condition. worn in several locations, with general fading, soiling and staining, scattered soiling and cracking.
