Description: Up for auction is a rare original and authentic 1860 Abraham Lincoln & Hannibal Hamlin Presidential Campaign Ferrotype button token that is in nice presentable condition. This is a significant memento of United States political and social history, with a young and unbearded portrait! Made of a gilt brass frame together to form a hollow pendant and pierced to hung from a ribbon . Each side has sharp tintype portraits of the candidates. Hamlin’s portrait is excellent, Lincoln’s is slightly darker but also please make note that we have made no attempt to clean this item and it is in as found condition and could possibly clean up to be a very bright image. The token measures 24 mm 15/16 “ and is in nice condition considering its age.
