CONDITION In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally generally sound with minor shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, light sunning to the boards and spine. Minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous ownership inscription to the front pastedown, 'John R. Taylor'. With Arthur Elton's bookplate to the front pastedown. Front free endpaper to p. vi loose but present, hinges slightly strained, holding firm, the text block generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with sketches of lamps and other apparatus in text throughout.
