Description: This map is from the Johnson's New Illustrated Township Steel Plate Family Atlas Of the World published in 1868. This atlas was awarded first prize medal at the universal exposition of 1867 in Paris. At the time this atlas was the largest, finest executed, and only illustrated Township Atlas of the world ever published. This is a beautiful map with very nice detail. Map is hand colored and is dated 1863. Map is two pages on a single sheet of paper measuring 18" x 26" and would present beautifully in a frame. The Cover and title page shown are not Included in this auction. However, a photocopy of the title page is included. This is an original 156 year old map, not a copy or reprint.
