Description: An original handwritten receipt dated October 9th 1865 from West Chester, Pennsylvania. It is regarding payment from P. P. Sharpless to W. Hibbard Jr. for services rendered in the sale of the personal property of the estate of Townsend Haines. It is entirely handwritten on ruled paper measuring: 7 3/4"x 5 3/4". There is a horizontal crease and some discoloration, on the back is written "No. 7" in the same hand. Overall in very good condition.
