Description: 1866 Shield Nickel NGC AU58 Repunched Date / Obverse Die Clash FS 306/401 Beautiful Tone! A seldom seen variety type with TWO attributed varieties on one coin, Repunched Date and an Obverse Die Clash. According to the Cherrypickers' Guide "The date is repunched to the South on all four digits. The obverse shows very strong clash marks (the strongest of the Shield nickel series) from the reverse designs. The flag of the big 5 is visible within the lower shield, and the reverse rays are visible around the periphery of the shield." There are six problem free attributed examples in PCGS holders (AU 55 (1), AU58 (1), MS 64 (2), MS65 (2) and one at NGC (MS62). I am limiting my collection to one of each type, and this one must go. Questions are always welcome. You will be pleased with the coin in hand or return it, within 14 days from when USPS Delivery Confirmation indicates arrival to you for your money back. Secure packaging, not just dropped into an envelope. I will combine for multiple items. Be sure to check out my other items listed.
