They are from the French journal Le Tour du Monde, Nouveau Journal des Voyages, (1868, Premier Semestre) edited by Edouard Charton, a copy of the title page is included for documentation. They are not matted nor framed being sold as two separate maps as shown in the main pic. Le Tour du Monde was published from 1860-1914 and was a popular travel journal sold in bookstores as well as in the kiosks of railroad stations. It was dedicated to travel and exploration ranging from the discovery of the source of the Nile to the conquest of the Poles. This print is from the section "Voyage au Bresil" by Agassiz in 1865-6. Overall, a beautiful print that would frame up well.Size: The dimensions of the printed areas between the neat lines measures approximately 3 by 4 1/2 (8x12cm) on pages measuring 8 by 11 3/4" (20x30cm). Condition: The maps are both in Very Good to Excellent condition with text/images on the reverse. Overall, they are both very clean on a bright page that would frame up well, see the pics for more on the condition. The pics are of the actual maps.
