Description: 1874 RN-D Sapphire Mill / WS Hobart check issued to and signed by Raymond. Spindle cancel. The Sapphire Mill was located 0.25 miles below Gold Hill and was built in the early 1860s. At the time of this check (1870s), it had 15 stamps, a 40-ton-per-day capacity, and was processing ore from the Crown Point Mine of Gold Hill (Ref:Ansari).
