Blank page between brown endpapers and title page has been torn out i.e. about two-thirds of it are missing (only first letter of previous owner's name present). Pages are age toned. Tightly bound copy with clean interior having no markings, writing, underlining, or highlighting in margins or text block. Founder of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Richmond, Virginia. In 1854, he was ordained as Episcopal minister, from Virginia Theological Seminary. He arrived at his first posting, Autumn 1854, at Cople Parish and Yeocomico. He was then rector for 27 years. During 20-22 May, 1863, he was Secretary of the 68th Annual Council of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Virginia, held in St. Paul's Church, Richmond. Wrote "A Pastor's Recollections" in 1875.
