These beautiful rounds have been placed in Air-Tite brand model H capsules with black 30 mm rings In 1879 there were two versions of the Stella coins produced. “Liberty with Flowing Hair” designed by Charles E. Barber, and “Liberty with Coiled Hair” designed by George T. Morgan. The Stella was a pattern coin produced to explore the possibility of joining the Latin Monetary Union. About 425 of coins were produced in 1879 and 1880. Congress decided not to join the Latin Monetary Union and coin was not authorized. Images: Images above represent my inventory of the Stella rounds.
