Description: Scarce topographical drawing and panoramic sketch of The Dalles on the Columbia River published in the Report of the Superintendent of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Showing the Progress of the Work During the Fiscal Year Ending with June, 1880 (Washington, Government Printing Office, 1882). The topographical map shows contour lines in red and plots the river horizontally across the image. Below that, the bottom third of the image contains the panoramic view titled “The Dalles, Columbia River, Looking South-Easterly.” The map is in good condition, the thick and sturdy paper has a uniform creamy color, there is a 1 inch repaired tear at the stub, and a couple of minor scuffs and stains.
